The Future of Climate Tech Through the Lens of Synthetic Biology ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ”ฌ

Synthetic biology applies engineering principles to living systems, enabling the design of new biological parts, devices, and organisms. This event explores how these tools can reshape climate technology โ€” from turning COโ‚‚ into insulin to decarbonising aviation.

Delivered in collaboration with the Oxford Synthetic Biology Society and the Oxford ZERO Institute, the evening brings together four expert speakers offering perspectives from research, industry, and policy.

What to expect:

  • ๐Ÿงฌ How synthetic biology can accelerate Net Zero innovation
  • ๐ŸŒ Real-world applications across healthcare, fuels, and materials
  • ๐Ÿ”ง 10โ€“15 minute talks followed by a 40-minute panel discussion
  • ๐Ÿท Drinks and networking to close the evening

Speakers include:

  • Dr Ting An Lee โ€“ Postdoctoral Research Associate & Founder
  • Dr Stuart Reid โ€“ CTO, Cyanocapture
  • Daniel Bloch โ€“ Director of Strategic Partnerships, Lanzajet
