Museum Late Night: Material Culture 🏛️✨
An evening after hours at the Museum of Natural History and the Pitt Rivers Museum. Themed ‘Material Culture’ and linked to the museum’s exhibition ‘34’, the late night explores our reliance on minerals and the critical raw materials sourced from nature, through stalls, games, talks and art and craft activities. Admission is free, but booking is essential and only ticket holders will be admitted.
What to expect:
🔬 Meet researchers and explore specimens — Discover the minerals and critical raw materials behind everyday life through hands-on stalls and games, with researchers on hand to answer questions
🎨 Talks, crafts and a mineral-themed bar — Drop-in art and craft activities across the evening, plus a cocktail bar inspired by the exhibition’s theme
🎶 Music and more at Pitt Rivers — Enjoy local groove-roots band Papa Nui, beer, wine and soft drinks by Tap Social, exhibition talks, drop-in weaving crafts and a materials-themed Bingo Hunt in the galleries
