Is Bread Alive? 🍞🔬

A playful yet thought‑provoking dive into the science of breadmaking, designed for children aged 10 and above, led by IF Oxford science and ideas Festival at Hamblin Bread. Over two morning sessions, you’ll explore the chemistry and biology that make dough rise - and consider the bigger question of what it means for something to be alive.

What to expect:

  • 🥖 Hands‑on breadmaking in a small group (max 10 participants)
  • 🔬 Discover the role of yeast, fermentation, and gluten networks
  • đź’ˇ Discuss the science of life through the lens of baking
  • 🏠 Take home the results of your investigative work

For children aged 10+.
This is a two‑session workshop: Monday 27 October and Tuesday 28 October 2025, 10:00–11:30 both days. One ticket covers both sessions and includes one accompanying adult.
