Completed in 1727, the Passion is renowned for its expressive depth, inventive harmony, and dramatic storytelling — a work that has shaped the entire tradition of passion oratorios.

This performance features Matthew Minter (Evangelist), George Robarts (Jesus), and a distinguished lineup of soloists, joined by The Orchestra of Stowe Opera under conductor Robert Secret. Sung in English, the work brings vivid clarity to Bach’s retelling of the Passion narrative.
