Andrew Chamblin Memorial Concert 2026 🎼⛪
The 20th annual Andrew Chamblin Memorial Concert is given by David Halls FRCO in Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford, and livestreamed online. Taking place in memory of Dr Chamblin — a theoretical physicist and alumnus of St John’s, Cambridge who died suddenly in 2006, aged only 36 — the concert reflects his passion for the organ and his love of baroque music.
What to expect:
🎼 An hour of organ masterworks — David Halls FRCO plays a programme of organ works by Mendelssohn, Elgar, Bach, Dubois and Boëllmann in the soaring acoustic of the Cathedral
🏛️ A 20-year tradition of remembrance — The annual concert honours Dr Andrew Chamblin’s musical passion, held each year at Christ Church Cathedral and live-streamed for audiences far beyond Oxford
🕯️ Free and open to all — No tickets required for in-person attendance, with everyone welcome — donations to the Andrew Chamblin Memorial Concert Fund (launched in this 20th anniversary year) support the series into the future
