A Bach Celebration
The acclaimed pianist and composer Jack Gibbons has been performing his highly popular annual Oxford Summer Piano Series without a break since 1988. This evening’s programme explores the extraordinary life and incomparable music of Johann Sebastian Bach, featuring a selection of the composer’s most beautiful and inspiring keyboard works—including the lively Goldberg Variations, which Gibbons included in his acclaimed 1984 Queen Elizabeth Hall London debut.

- Bach/Busoni: Chaconne (from Partita no.2, BWV 1004)
